FRONTIER RECOLONIZATION AND STATE TRANSFORMATION IN MODERN CHINA


This book-length project looks beyond the old narrative of decline and failure of the Qing emphasized by the anti-Qing revolutionaries and their successors, and analyzes the dynasty’s renewed geopolitical ambitions during its final decades in the context of global imperialist rivalries.
